Crewe Alexandra midfielder Joe White says the team's current run of draws has built a foundation of confidence ahead of a tough home fixture against Bristol Rovers. The Railwaymen sit ninth in League Two on 12 points after eight games, having drawn six of their last eight league matches following two opening wins.

White, speaking to the club's media, acknowledged the frustration of picking up just six points from those six stalemates. "I think over the eight league games we've had, there's obviously been spells where you're going to be under the cosh but, in general, we've felt quite safe," he said. The 23-year-old added that while the points return isn't good enough, the unbeaten streak and the feeling of control in matches provides a solid base. He stressed that the entire team, himself included, must take more responsibility for creating and converting chances to turn draws into wins.

Preparing for the promotion chasers

That challenge becomes immediate on Saturday when Crewe host Bristol Rovers at the Mornflake Stadium. The visitors, managed by Steve Evans, are currently third in the table and were widely tipped for promotion before the season began. White recognises the difficulty of the task, citing Evans' proven record in the league, but insists Crewe will approach the game expecting to win. The team's recent form shows one win and four draws in their last five outings across all competitions, a sequence you can review on our fixtures page.

Their resilience was evident in the last league game, a 1-1 draw away at Rotherham on September 26th. Crewe have scored in all but one of their league games this season, netting eight times while conceding six. With the squad feeling secure in their performances, the focus now shifts to finding the decisive edge. The match against high-flying Rovers represents a perfect opportunity to test that growing confidence, with the full squad available for selection as shown on our squad list.
