Crewe Alexandra have completed their first signing of the upcoming 2026/27 season, with the addition of a two-time League Two promotion winner. Jordon Gibson has joined The Railwaymen on a three-year contract from Doncaster Rovers with the option of a further year. The 28-year-old winger arrives in South Cheshire following a two-year stay at League One Rovers, where he earned promotion in 2024/25. Gibson, who made 103 appearances for Doncaster, netting on 12 occasions, including three in England's third tier last season. Born in Birmingham, Gibson came through the ranks at Rangers FC before joining Bradford City as a 19-year-old. Following three years at Valley Parade, Gibson switched to the League of Ireland with St Patrick's Athletic and subsequently Sligo Rovers. He then joined Carlisle in August 2021, making 145 appearances for the Cumbrian side. Gibson scored 20 goals in his time with The Blues, helping them secure promotion via the League Two play-offs in 2022/23. The signing of Gibson comes after Crewe released winger, Shilow Tracey, after three years at Gresty Road. Gibson predominantly plays as a left winger, despite being right-footed.
