Crewe Alexandra's manager Lee Bell has made it clear that there is 'no chance' of re-signing striker Emre Tezgel and midfielder Tommi O'Reilly for the upcoming season. Both players played pivotal roles in Crewe's campaign during 2025-26, with Tezgel scoring 10 goals in 31 appearances despite a significant injury layoff. O'Reilly, on the other hand, contributed with 12 assists over the course of the season, starting all 46 league matches. The club finished 11th in League Two, falling short of the play-off spots by 11 points. As Bell prepares for the summer transfer window, he acknowledges the impact these players had but believes they have outgrown the League Two level. He stated, 'If one of them could come back to this club, I'd snap your hand off, but there's not a chance.' Bell emphasized the importance of the loan market in developing young talent, indicating that the club will continue to seek similar loan deals in the future. With seven players already released and others considering contract offers, Bell is focused on making selective signings that fit the club's ethos. He aims to ensure that any new recruits possess the right personality to contribute positively to Crewe's ambitions.
