Crewe Alexandra are on the verge of signing Sheffield Wednesday forward Charlie McNeill on a season-long loan. The 22-year-old striker is expected to join the League Two side as the Owls look to give him regular first-team football.
Who is Charlie McNeill?
McNeill, a former Manchester United youth prospect, joined Sheffield Wednesday in 2024. He has shown flashes of promise, including a brace in a Carabao Cup win over Hull City and three goals in two games during the 2025/26 season. However, with increased competition at Hillsborough, a loan move could benefit his development.
