Crewe Alexandra must get back to their front-foot football, according to manager Lee Bell, who says the team needs to rediscover their threat and start scoring again. The Alex have slipped from the top of League Two after following four straight wins with a sequence of four narrow defeats in their next five matches. In that time, they have taken just one point - from a 1-1 draw at Colchester - and scored just twice. Lee Bell told BBC Radio Stoke that he wants to get back on track as quickly as possible and alter the performances going forward. Crewe's stuttering form has frustrated Bell, who said their recent displays have not been acceptable. He has made it clear to his squad what he wants to see, which is to look a threat again and have that freedom with players further up the pitch. Bell says he is not thinking about making radical changes to try to stop the slump in results but does have two of his recent signings - Jay Mingy and Dion Rankine - in contention to face Notts County on Saturday. The home fans will be expecting a positive response after what they've seen in the last two games, so Crewe must embrace that. Bell's focus is on eradicating individual mistakes and having a bit more clarity in decision making, which he believes will make a big difference. Crewe have been on the front foot, with their ground duels and aerial duels going up, but errors have made things look different. With a bit of luck and some improved performances, Crewe can get back to winning ways and climb the League Two table.
